Our Full Moon singing bowl is hand-forged in the Nepalese Himalayas by skilled artisans, drawing on centuries of traditional metalworking. The bowl produces a deep, resonant tone suited to meditation, sound healing, and personal practice.

The design carries the symbolism of the full moon, a powerful image across many spiritual traditions, often associated with clarity, intuition, and emotional balance. Each bowl is hand-etched with the sacred mantra Om Mani Padme Hum and traditional Tibetan motifs. The mantra is one of the most well-known in Tibetan Buddhism, traditionally associated with compassion and the path to enlightenment.

Available in twelve sizes from 15cm to 33cm. Each bowl is handmade, so weight and diameter are approximate. Lighter bowls produce higher tones; heavier bowls produce deeper tones.

Full Moon Singing Bowl FAQs

What are Full Moon singing bowls made out of?

Our Full Moon singing bowls are made from bell bronze, a traditional alloy of copper and tin that has been used for centuries to create instruments with rich, resonant tones. Each bowl is hand-etched with the sacred mantra Om Mani Padme Hum and traditional Tibetan motifs.

How do you play a Full Moon singing bowl?

To play your Full Moon singing bowl, hold it in the palm of your hand or place it on a cushion. Using the wooden mallet, lightly strike the outer rim to create a resonant tone. Then slowly run the mallet around the rim in a circular motion, maintaining steady pressure to produce a continuous, sustained sound. With practice, you can control the pitch and intensity. For a more detailed guide, see our how to play singing bowls article.

What makes Full Moon sound bowls unique?

The Full Moon singing bowl is distinguished by its lunar-themed design and the traditional Tibetan symbols etched into its surface. The full moon is a powerful symbol across many spiritual traditions, often associated with clarity, intuition, and emotional balance. Many practitioners are drawn to the symbolism for use during full moon meditations, intention-setting, or as a meaningful object in their daily practice. The sound is similar to other high-quality hand-forged Tibetan singing bowls, with the design being what sets it apart.

What size singing bowl should I choose?

Smaller bowls (15-22cm) produce higher, brighter tones and are easier to hold in the hand for personal practice. Larger bowls (24-33cm) produce deeper, lower tones with more sustained resonance, better suited to sound healing sessions and group settings. If you're not sure, 20-24cm is a popular middle range that suits most uses.

How is the Full Moon singing bowl different from other Tibetan singing bowls?

All our Tibetan singing bowls are hand-forged in the Nepalese Himalayas using traditional methods. The Full Moon design is distinguished by its lunar symbolism and hand-etched motifs, including the Om Mani Padme Hum mantra. The sound quality is comparable to our other hand-forged bowls. The choice comes down to which design and symbolism resonates with your practice.
